A more natural way to add and manage tasks
Stuff has always been about balancing simplicity and power, making productivity feel effortless while still giving you the tools to handle complex projects, busy family schedules, or long-term goals. With Version 2.2, Stuff takes another big step forward.
This release introduces brand-new ways to capture your tasks, whether you prefer typing, talking, or writing them out by hand, while also polishing the overall experience with design refinements, smarter interactions, and more flexibility in how you use the app.

What’s New in Stuff?
Natural Language Processing ✨
Typing tasks in Stuff is now faster and smarter than ever. With Natural Language Recognition, Stuff can understand what you mean as you type and suggest the right details automatically.
For example, writing “Plan vacation next summer” or “Call Sophia Friday” will trigger Stuff to suggest a date, tag, or list in real time. You don’t have to remember to add extra fields or jump between menus, the details come to you as you go.
Suggestions appear in the toolbar above your keyboard, so adding context to your tasks feels seamless and unobtrusive. It’s always on, always helpful, and makes capturing tasks a matter of simply writing what’s on your mind.

Listen Mode 🗣
Sometimes typing isn’t the fastest way to capture your thoughts. That’s where Listen Mode comes in.
With Listen Mode, you just start talking. You can say, “Do laundry tonight, prep for trip next weekend, and write a new chapter someday,” and Stuff will listen, understand, and break your words down into clear, organized tasks.
Before anything is added, Stuff shows you a summarized list, giving you a chance to edit, reorder, or refine. The interface itself is viby, animated, and playful, making the process feel alive and enjoyable.
Unlike voice assistants that require strict commands, Listen Mode is built around natural speech. You don’t have to think about phrasing, just talk the way you normally would, and Stuff does the work of structuring it.

Scan Mode 📝
For those who love pen and paper, Scan Mode bridges the gap between analog and digital.
Jot down a to-do list in a notebook, on a sticky note, or even free-flow in a paragraph. Open Scan Mode, scan the page, and Stuff will recognize your handwriting, turning it into tasks you can immediately edit, organize, and complete.
It works whether you use bullet points, checkboxes, or just sentences, and the recognition is designed to be forgiving with semi-legible handwriting. By integrating directly into the Add Tasks experience, Scan Mode makes moving between your physical and digital workflows effortless.

Smarter, Simpler Everyday Experience 🔧
Stuff 2.2 isn’t just about big new ways to capture tasks, it’s also full of thoughtful refinements that make everyday use smoother.
Filtering is now more intuitive: when you select tags or filters, they stay visible even if they’re scrolled offscreen. This makes it easy to know exactly what context you’re working in, especially when juggling multiple lists or projects.
Tasks themselves have become smarter too. If a task includes a phone number, link, or address, you can now tap it directly to take action, call, text, or open Maps with a single tap. This small detail makes tasks feel more actionable and connected to the real work you’re doing.
Starting with Stuff is also simpler. You can now dive right in without creating an account, reducing friction for new Doers. And if subscriptions aren’t your style, Stuff 2.2 adds the option to unlock everything with a one-time Lifetime pass to Extra Stuff.
To help you discover everything Stuff can do, a new launch screen now provides hints about hidden features, like keyboard shortcuts, the Today Card, or Daily Notes, so you can uncover powerful tools at your own pace.
All together, these improvements make Stuff feel more helpful, more flexible, and more in tune with the way you actually work day to day.

The Future of Stuff
With Natural Language Recognition, Listen Mode, Scan Mode, design refinements, smarter tasks, and easier onboarding, Stuff 2.2 is the most human, fluid version of Stuff yet.
Whether you type, talk, or write, Stuff now adapts to the way you think. And with smoother navigation and a more cohesive design, it feels better than ever to use day after day.
Stuff continues to stand out by offering a to-do list that’s simple enough for anyone, yet powerful enough for Doers who want real control over their projects and priorities. Version 2.2 builds on that foundation—making productivity seamless, beautiful, and, above all, natural.
