Known Issues

There are some issues that we’re aware of and haven’t been fully resolved yet either due to prioritization (see roadmap) or lack of a clear technical solution.

If you have happen to have any additional insight on any of these issues, please feel free to reach out to hello@themitycompany.com.

Headings have issues with creation / dragging

Planned Resolution

Problem

Headings are problematic when first created. They sometimes don’t always maintain position, or remember which tasks you drag into them.

In the meantime

After a Heading is created, just leave the list and come back to it. That’ll force-refresh it and it should work relatively well (dragging to rearrange headings is still problematic).

Planned resolution

This will be resolved in an upcoming software update!

Task statuses don’t always persist if using Immediate Clearing and force-quitting the app quickly

Technical Discovery

Problem

Force-quitting the app prevents us from running some operations in the background that save the task status, specifically if you’re using Immediate task clearing and you force-quit Stuff very quickly after completing a task.

In the meantime

If you’re using the Immediate clearing setting, don’t force-quit Stuff until after the task clears from your list. If you rarely force-quit apps, this will never be an issue for you - all of our needed operations will run perfectly fine in the background. It’s really just an issue if you swipe up and immediately close Stuff before it has a chance to register some of those updates.

Task reminders don’t always get sent

Recently Resolved

Problem

We’re seeing some issues with doers not always getting notified of task reminders when they’ve set them - specifically if the reminder was set on a certain device (Device A) and a reminder is expected on a second device (Device B), and Stuff wasn’t opened on Device B after the reminder was set on Device A.

In the meantime

If it’s important to you that you get notified on a certain device, just open Stuff on that device to give it a chance to sync your planned reminders. For example, if you’ve setup reminders on Device A, open Stuff on Device B afterwards to give those reminders a chance to sync.

Planned Resolution

As part of a future update, we’ll be implementing a stronger back-end solution that will ping all of your devices, regardless of if they’ve synced your latest reminders or not. We’ll be doing this using cloud functions as opposed to relying on a database sync between your devices.
