Hole Punch Menu
The Hole Punch Menu is the context menu that appears when you tap on the circle (hole punch) to the right of a Task. It's a quick way to access actions and detected information without fully expanding the task.
Detected Data Actions
If Stuff has detected data in your task name or notes, those will appear as actionable options right in the Hole Punch Menu. (see Data Detection). This makes the Hole Punch Menu a powerful shortcut - if a task says "Call Mom”, and has her phone number in the notes of the task, just tap the hole punch to call the number directly. If a Task has multiple useful details, like several links, phone numbers, addresses, or email addresses, the menu shows those separate actions too.
Quick Metadata
When a task is collapsed, the Hole Punch Menu also gives you quick access to set metadata without expanding the task:
- Set Plan - Assign a Plan date
- Set Deadline - Assign a Deadline
- Set Dependency - Create a Dependency on another task
- Set Tags - Add or change Tags
- Set List - Move the task to a different list
More Options
Under the More submenu, you'll find additional actions:
- Convert to List - Turn this task into a full List (see Converting a Task to a List)
- Create Follow Up - Create a new task that depends on this one being completed first
Trash and Repeat Controls
- Trash - Send the task to the Trash Bin
- Stop Repeating - If the task is a repeating task, this option stops the repeat cycle
