Stuff Cloud
Stuff Cloud keeps your tasks, lists, and everything else in sync across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It's free and always on. There's nothing to set up beyond creating a profile.
Getting set up
To sync between devices, create a Stuff profile with Sign in with Apple or with an email and password. Then sign in with that same profile on each of your devices.
If you tapped Get Started without creating a profile, your stuff is still saved to Stuff Cloud, but you can't open it on your other devices yet. You can create a profile at any time from Settings, and everything you've already added comes with you.
Heads up: signing in to an existing profile from a device that doesn't have one yet permanently deletes whatever that device had added so far. To keep it, create a new profile instead.
What syncs
- Tasks, Lists, Headings, and Spaces, including notes, dates, Tags, and Dependencies
- Repeating tasks and List Templates
- Your Adventure Log and Daily Note
- Your Launchpad layout, how often completed tasks are cleared, and whether reminder notifications are on
Reminders are sent to all of your signed-in devices, so you'll get them wherever you are. Other settings, like how Today groups your tasks, are saved separately per device (on purpose).
How fast is it?
Changes show up on your other devices within seconds while Stuff is open. There's no sync button. Tasks you add from the share sheet or Shortcuts sync in the background, even if Stuff isn't open.
Working offline
You can keep using Stuff without a connection. Your changes are saved on your device and sync automatically once you're back online. You'll need a connection the first time you open Stuff to get set up.
If two devices change the same thing while one is offline, the most recent change to reach Stuff Cloud is the one that's kept. Changes to different things, like a new name on one device and a new Plan on the other, are both kept.
Shared Lists
Shared Lists sync the same way, so your teammates see your changes within seconds and you see theirs. To share, you'll need a profile with a verified email and a username. You can share a List with up to 5 friends for free, or up to 25 with Extra Stuff.
Signing out and deleting your profile
- Signing out of a device doesn't delete anything. Your stuff is still safe in your profile, and it all comes back when you sign in again.
- Deleting your profile from Settings permanently deletes all of your tasks, lists, and other data, and removes you from anything that's been shared with you. This can't be undone.
Your Extra Stuff membership is tied to your Apple ID, not your Stuff profile. If you switch profiles, see Extra Stuff for how to restore your membership.
